Aug 9 (Reuters) – More than 19.65 million people have been infected with the new Coronavirus worldwide, and 725,334 have died from the disease, Covid-19, caused by it, a Reuters census indicated.
Cases of the virus have been recorded in more than 210 countries and regions since its appearance in China in December 2019.
The United States topped the list of deaths and injuries, with 162,105 deaths, five million and 14,339 injuries recorded.
Brazil came second in the two lists, with 100,477 deaths, three million and 12,412 injuries.
And in the third place in terms of injuries, India came after recording two million and 886011, but it ranked fifth in terms of deaths, with 42,518 deaths.
Russia came in fourth place in the list of injuries, registering 882,347, although its deaths did not exceed 14,854.
And in fifth place in the list of injuries came South Africa with 553,188 injuries, but the death toll was limited to 10210.
Mexico continued to be ranked third in the list of deaths, after the cases jumped to 5,2006 deaths, but it came in sixth place in the list of injuries, after recording 475,902 injuries.
Britain ranked fourth in the list of deaths, after reaching 46,566 cases, while it ranked tenth in the list of injuries, with 340,399 cases.
Italy came to fifth place in the list of deaths, recording 35,203 cases, but it came in sixteenth place in the list of injuries, after detecting 103,250 injuries.
As for France, it was the sixth largest country on the list of deaths, with 30,324 cases recorded, but it ranked nineteenth in terms of injuries, with 232678 cases.
Spain ranked seventh in the list of deaths, with 28,503 deaths, but it came in eleventh place in terms of injuries, with 332216 injuries.
